Become a Qualified Tennis Coach

AATC tailor courses to meet the needs of the Trainee Assistant Coaches (Level One) as well as developing Head Coaches (Level Two). We understand that being a qualified tennis professional involves many things. We spend time working with you in areas of teaching methods, identifying tennis skills, communication, knowledge, marketing and business skills, working with companies and suppliers and committees alike. Every aspect of tennis is covered in our courses.


Courses Available



Introductory Level O (introduction to Coaching)


Ideal for parents and primary/secondary school teachers who are looking to learn the very basics in this 3 hour on court course. Is also used as an introduction to the Level One Assistant Tennis Coaches Certificate. Pre Requisites: A love for tennis


Assistant Tennis Coaches Certificate Level One


An introduction to all aspects of teaching tennis from beginner to intermediate students, including special needs classes. It is the first step for those looking to develop their own skills with a view to one day commencing their own business. Pre Requisites: Must play a minimum level of social tennis and be willing to have their strokes assessed and if required improved upon by our assessors prior to course commencement.


Advanced Tennis Coach Level 2

This qualification is for the experienced Level One Coach who aspires to teach advanced students of all ages. This course also assists the coach who would like to start their own business or tennis school. Pre Requisites: Minimum of 150 unsupervised hours required and has played at a higher level than that of the Level One pre requisite (assessment of playing standard will be required prior to course commencement)

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) – All year round


If you are an already experienced coach, you may be eligible for your certificate without doing the full course. You will be required to demonstrate this prior learning through an on court assessment and also providing evidence to support this. Your assessor will go through this with you.
